For a game development course, I was tasked to create a video game. The genre of it and the general story that can be implemented was open-ended, as long as we could program at least three mechanics, simple or complex, into Unreal Engine 5 using the blueprint coding methods.

I made a roughly put together game called Deadly Dorm Desires. The vision was to make it an action game with open zone exploration, item exploration, stealth elements, and social interactions that determine player choices.

The Synopsis:
In Jay Pan University, there is love in the air. A sickening amount of it. Nozomi, an attending student, is tired of seeing it all not come into her life. Returning back for her third year, she decides to change her lonely fate and have her newfound crush all to herself, by any means necessary. That includes removing one obstacle in her way; the head of the MMA club and dojo, who also has her eyes on senpai. She must stop her before that woman makes her confession at the end of the school day under the freshly planted trees out at the back of the campus. Through word of mouth, it would seem she can be thwarted by using her nut allergy against her…

With that story in mind, I made assets to this first level tailored to being means that could kill this first rival, or simply scare her off the campus. I also created the characters from the concept art to the final sculpts which I added over the default character models in unreal to be playable and interactable. Putting my limited knowledge of coding together allowed me to also make characters pick up items, crouch, run, talk to NPCs, and murder certain types of AI from behind, including the Rival, as seen in the video.
